I visited the Cornwall Historical Society yesterday and purchased 2 pamphlets on Dudleytown. I was freaked out enough that the next day I through the rock on my porch in the woods and forgot about it. On a completely still night in early fall, while there with 11 other people, we heard screams, footsteps, & late t night ( 3-4am) a limb fell from a tree missing my tent & my neighbor ‘s by about an inch. I didn’t realize it was considered trespassing since the trail supposedly goes right by it. While a car parked for a few hours won’t raise suspicion, one parked overnight, with out of state tags even, is a huge red flag. Cornwall woods are clean outside of a few beer cans and gum wrappers. Walking back from the trail to dark entry road I have seen black shadows following me and my freind who passed out from a panic attack had to carry him to the car. Dudley town was never an actual town rather than it was given that name nearly in the 1740s by Thomas Griffis.. then she claimed them to be everywhere and there were the cuts forming all over her body! Then they think the town is supposed to worship them. Access is still allowed for hikers on route 6 on top of the mountain before the road turns and you see the gravel/construction company.
