The rest of it should work pretty well, same linkage in the same place, you won't get manual 1st gear unless you play with the shifter gate so the lever can move further, I think. It can cause a lot of problems if you bolt a 4L60E that is not quite the same as the old one to your motor. Anybody can go the easy route and rig a carb to work but you already have the right fuel pump,a 4L60E and all the wiring you need in place. The good news is that either way, you win.
